While it might sound a bit too out-of-the-box for some, Halloween weddings are actually very popular, when the holiday lands on a weekend. This year, with Halloween landing on a Sunday, Halloween themed weddings are going to be ‘all the rage.’
A Halloween wedding can be more fun than you ever imagined a wedding to be. It might not be the most cost effective theme to chose, but if you’re going to do it you might as well go big. Here are some very fun ideas from around the internet on your Halloween themed wedding:
A Haunted Mansion Venue
Consider having your wedding at a venue that is haunted…we mean really, truly haunted. Sure Val Vista Lakes might not be a haunted venue, but who knows what kind of creatures are lurking in the lake….
A haunted venue for your Halloween wedding will set the scene, create a spooky mood, and has also been known to be quite romantic for wedding occasions. You never know, a ghoul or two might invite themselves to your wedding.
Antique Wedding Dresses
If you’re going all out, why not wear a classy, sexy, antique Wedding Dress for your Halloween themed wedding? You don’t have to go completely gothic, but be creative and consider a look that compliments your body type, as well as your wedding theme.
Masquerade Ball
Instead of a classic reception, why not have a Monster’s Ball or Masquerade Ball where your guests dress up? If playing dress up is not really your thing, but you still want a Halloween themed wedding, how about providing masks at the door, or asking guests to bring their own masquerade masks?
Décor
This is the fun part of your Halloween themed wedding. The possibilities are truly endless when it comes to wedding and reception decorations. How about black roses, black cats, pumpkins, spooky chandeliers, skeletons, and candy corn as favors? This the haunted mansion at Disneyland, or the movie Nightmare Before Christmas. Be creative!
Food and Cocktails
The Knot suggests trying a “pumpkin-infused menu” with mini pumpkin tart appetizers, pumpkin bread and pumpkin butter. You can never go wrong with pumpkin butter. Or go with an apple theme, creating apple martinis, candied apples, and apple infused appetizers.
